Basketball Recap: Maclay Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Maclay can now relate to. They were beaten by the Rocky Bayou Christian Knights 43-16 on Friday. The contest marked the Marauders' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Lauren Guyer was Maclay's leading scorer, having posted six points. Zoie Horton held things down on the boards with nine rebounds. Sophia Van Asten took the lead distributing the ball, coming up with two assists.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Rocky Bayou Christian to victory, but perhaps none more so than Noelle Mallory, who posted five points along with six rebounds and four steals. Another player making a difference was Niara Gayle, who put up ten points and eight boards.

Maclay's loss dropped their record down to 15-10. As for Rocky Bayou Christian, their victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-3.

Maclay does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Rocky Bayou Christian, they will square off against San Jose Prep at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
