Evangel Christian (Alabaster, Ala.) snapped Ballard Christian (Auburn, Ala.)'s 5-game winning streak, with a 47-12 victory on Saturday.After taking the lead on a touchdown run by
David Baggett in the first quarter, the Lightning led 41-0 at the half.
Evangel Christian expanded its lead to 47 points entering the fourth quarter. EC scored once in the quarter on a touchdown run by
Nate Scott.
Jarrett Scott played well for Ballard Christian. The freshman running back ran for one touchdown. His performance brought his touchdown total to 16 on the year.
Scott played well for the Alabaster school in the victory. The junior quarterback ran for two touchdowns. He has now scored five touchdowns on the season.
The Lightning went into the matchup giving up only 12.8 points per game. The 12 points that BC ended with were well below its average of 50.2 coming into the game. The Auburn school came in surrendering 15.8 points per game this season. Ballard Christian struggled against Evangel Christian's offense, which entered the game scoring 33.8 points per game.
The defeat comes as a step back for Ballard Christian, which notched a 48-6 victory over Colonial Hills Christian in its previous outing.
