Preview: Manor Mustangs vs. Stony Point Tigers
The Manor Mustangs will be playing at home against the Stony Point Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Last Thursday, Manor came up short against Round Rock Westwood and fell 28-21. While losing is never fun, Manor can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 334th, while Round Rock Westwood is ranked 154th).
Despite the defeat, Manor got a solid performance out of Titus Petteway, who rushed for 162 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 7.0 yards per carry. Petteway was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 62 yards.
Meanwhile, Stony Point started off well but failed to capitalize on an early lead against McNeil. They were outmatched by the Mavericks at home and fell 52-21. Stony Point has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Manor has been struggling recently, as they've lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-5 record this season. As for Stony Point, they now have a losing record at 4-5.
Everything came up roses for Manor against Stony Point in their previous meeting back in November of 2022 as the squad secured a 45-10 win. Will Manor repeat their success, or does Stony Point have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
