Softball Game Preview: Swanton Bulldogs vs. Toledo Christian Eagles

The Swanton Bulldogs will face off against the Toledo Christian Eagles at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Swanton is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.1 runs per game this season.

Monday just wasn't the day for Swanton's offense. They came up short against Archbold on Monday, falling 10-0. Having soared to a lofty 11 runs in the game before, the Bulldogs' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Toledo Christian). Everything went their way against Cardinal Stritch on Tuesday as they made off with a 27-9 win. The high-scoring effort was just what the Eagles needed considering they were shut out in their previous game.

Swanton moved to 6-8 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak. As for Toledo Christian, their victory was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 4-5.

Everything went Swanton's way against Toledo Christian in their previous matchup back in April of 2023, as Swanton made off with a 13-1 win. Do the Bulldogs have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Eagles turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
