Recap: South Charlotte T Thunder vs. South Guilford HomeSchool Cougars
The South Charlotte T Thunder entered their tilt with the South Guilford HomeSchool Cougars with seven consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with eight. South Charlotte T walked away with a 68-61 victory over South Guilford HomeSchool on Monday. Given South Charlotte T's advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 232nd, while South Guilford HomeSchool is ranked 496th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead South Charlotte T to victory, but perhaps none more so than Aaron Hill, who scored 16 points along with nine assists and five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Luke Graves, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 14 rebounds.
Despite the loss, South Guilford HomeSchool saw an underclassman step up: Brody Still dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten rebounds. Still hasn't dropped below two steals for five straight games. Nate Martin was another key contributor, scoring 17 points along with five rebounds and two steals.
South Charlotte T's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 13-8. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 80.8 points per game. As for South Guilford HomeSchool, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 10-17.
South Charlotte T will head out on the road to square off against Comenius at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Comenius is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak. As for South Guilford HomeSchool, they will look to defend their home court on Monday against Shining Light Academy at 8:00 p.m. One thing working in Shining Light Academy's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last eight games.
