Soccer Game Preview: Montrose vs. Palisade

Montrose is preparing for their first league matchup of the season on Tuesday. They will venture away from home to square off against the Palisade Bulldogs at 5:00 p.m. After the two teams made easy work of their previous opponents, one won't be so lucky on Tuesday.

Montrose is headed out to face Palisade after opening their season at home and giving their fans just what they were looking for. Montrose's defense stepped up to hand Glenwood Springs a 3-0 shutout on Saturday. The victory continues a trend for the Red Hawks in their matchups with the Demons: they've now won five in a row.

Montrose hit Glenwood Springs with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Sadie Wareham, Yuliana Almanza, and Jordyn Dew.

Meanwhile, Palisade had to kick off their season on the road on Thursday, but they showed no ill effects. They put the hurt on Glenwood Springs with a sharp 3-0 win.

Montrose was able to grind out a solid victory over Palisade when the teams last played back in May of 2024, winning 2-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for Montrose since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
