Baseball Recap: St. Ignatius Comes Up Short in High-Profile Match with Jackson

St. Ignatius faced Jackson in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Wednesday. The Wildcats fell 3-0 to the Polar Bears. The contest marked the first time this season in which the Wildcats were not able to get on the board.

St. Ignatius got a good showing from Joe Conrad, who didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out six over four innings pitched.

On the hitting side, St. Ignatius saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Marcus Tekancic, who went 1-for-3 with one triple.

St. Ignatius' defeat dropped their record down to 5-3. As for Jackson, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 14-3.
