Holbrook's game last Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 win over the Show Low Cougars. This was a revenge game for the Roadrunners: when they faced off against the Cougars back in February, they had to take a 8-0 defeat.

Baler Reidhead spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on five hits. He has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Holbrook's victory was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Ben Eisele, who scored a run while going 1-for-3. Another was Ty Larson, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Holbrook's win was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-4 and their overall record up to 9-11. As for Show Low, their loss ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 13-7.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Holbrook will face off against Page at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Roadrunners' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Sand Devils have averaged an impressive 8.4 runs per game this season. As for Show Low, they will challenge Snowflake at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
