Basketball Recap: Rickards Continues Home Dominance on Thursday

Rickards extended their postseason success on Thursday against Menendez. They walked away with a 45-32 win over the Menendez Falcons. Winning may never get old, but the Raiders sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Rickards' victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Lauryn Pye, who dropped a double-double with 12 points and ten rebounds. That's the most points Pye has posted since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Genesis Henry, who dropped a double-double with 13 points and ten boards.

Rickards smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 18 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive boards in 19 consecutive matches.

Lucia Warner and Nykia Deans certainly did their best on Thursday to avoid the loss. Warner put up 11 points and six rebounds, while Deans earned six points.

Rickards' win was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 18-3. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.8 points over those games. As for Menendez, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games, which has put a noticeable dent in their 15-10 record this season.

Coming up, Rickards will face off against Ribault at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Ribault knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past four contests -- so hopefully Rickards likes a good challenge. Menendez does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
