Basketball Recap: Round Valley Falls Despite Big Games from Joah Brown and Kade Latham

After flying high against Many Farms last Tuesday, Round Valley came back down to earth. The Round Valley Elks fell 57-47 to the St. Johns Redskins on Tuesday. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Elks this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 57-50 back in December of 2024.

Round Valley's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Kade Latham, who went 5 of 12 en route to 18 points, and Joah Brown, who posted seven points and 13 boards. Those 13 rebounds gave Brown a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Marcus Mortensen, who scored two points and six boards.

Round Valley's loss dropped their record down to 7-20. As for St. Johns, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a massive bump to their 12-13 record this season.

Round Valley wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 51-33 victory against Pinon on the 6th. St. Johns has also already played their next game, a 73-61 win against Many Farms on the 6th.
