St. Charles East comes up short despite Lexi Diorio's strong performance

Recap: St. Charles East Fighting Saints vs. Wheaton-Warrenville South Tigers

The St. Charles East Fighting Saints's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fifth straight loss. They fell 46-39 to Wheaton-Warrenville South. St. Charles East was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Wheaton-Warrenville South apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January.

When it comes to explaining why St. Charles East lost, one person who can't be blamed is Lexi Diorio. Despite the final result, she scored 14 points along with two steals. Another player making a difference was Addie Schilb, who scored seven points along with five rebounds.

St. Charles East dropped their record down to 17-12 with that loss, which was their seventh straight on the road. As for Wheaton-Warrenville South, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 16-15 record this season.

St. Charles East is on the road again on Monday and plays West Chicago at 6:00 p.m. on February 12th. Hopefully St. Charles East is not getting complacent, as they presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than West Chicago in Illinois (St. Charles East is ranked 48th, while West Chicago is ranked 219th). As for Wheaton-Warrenville South, they will take on Glenbard East at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
