Basketball Recap: Chloe Dick's Big Game Can't Quite Lead New Lexington over Sheridan

If New Lexington was riding high fresh off their 62-24 takedown of Coshocton last Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The New Lexington Panthers lost 66-45 to the Sheridan Generals on Wednesday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Panthers of the 41-23 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in December of 2023.

New Lexington's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Chloe Dick, who posted 13 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Layla Baker, who scored nine points.

New Lexington dropped their record down to 8-11 with the loss, which was their fourth straight at home. As for Sheridan, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 14-5.

New Lexington will head out on the road to take on Meadowbrook at 12:15 p.m. on Saturday. New Lexington is facing Meadowbrook at the right time seeing as Meadowbrook is stuck on an eight-game losing streak. As for Sheridan, they will welcome Tri-Valley at 12:15 p.m. on Saturday. Tri-Valley will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Sheridan surely won't give up without a fight.
