Basketball Recap: Orrville Comes Up Short

Orrville saw some tournament action on Saturday. They fell just short of the Chagrin Falls Tigers by a score of 36-34.

Avery Russell continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Chagrin Falls, going 7-for-17 on her way to 20 points and five rebounds. That makes it four consecutive games in which Russell has scored at least a third of Chagrin Falls' points. Another player making a difference was Gabby Byrne, who posted eight points in addition to nine boards and three steals.

Orrville's loss dropped their record down to 8-15. As for Chagrin Falls, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 14-9.

Orrville does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Chagrin Falls, a feisty cat fight will be fought as the Tigers face off against the Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
