The Orleans Bulldogs will venture away from home to challenge the Mitchell Bluejackets at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Orleans is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.8 runs per game this season.

Orleans took a loss when they played away from home on Monday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They skirted past Springs Valley 2-0.

Not much got past Izzie Rutherford, who gave up just three hits and racked up 11 Ks to keep Springs Valley off the board. Rutherford has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 11 consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Adrian Abel was excellent, going 1-for-2 with three stolen bases and one run. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in April.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 19 runs the game before, Mitchell was a bit more limited in their contest on Saturday. They fell just short of Brown County by a score of 1-0.

Mitchell's defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 3-8. As for Orleans, their win bumped their record up to 12-3.

Everything went Orleans' way against Mitchell in their previous meeting back in April, as Orleans made off with an 11-1 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bulldogs since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
