Baseball Recap: Greenbrier West Has No Trouble Against Pocahontas County

Greenbrier West won the last time they faced Pocahontas County and things went their way on Wednesday too. Greenbrier West blew past Pocahontas County 8-2. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Cavaliers.

Landon McClung was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. What's more, he posted five strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April of 2024. He was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 1-for-4.

In other batting news, Kameron Parker was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while going 1-for-2.

Greenbrier West's record is now 2-0. As for Pocahontas County, they are on a 13-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-5.

Greenbrier West wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next match, a 3-2 win against Liberty on the 27th. As for Pocahontas County, they have also already played their next game, a 14-10 loss against Highland on the 27th.
