Basketball Recap: First Assembly Christian Comes Up Short

First Assembly Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They took a 64-45 bruising from the Brooklane Baptist Eagles. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Lions this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 73-66 last Thursday.

When it comes to explaining why First Assembly Christian lost, don't look at Bryce Sasser. Despite the final result, he went 7 for 14 on his way to 24 points. Garrison Williams was another key player, putting up ten points.

First Assembly Christian's loss dropped their record down to 2-9. As for Brooklane Baptist, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-5.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. First Assembly Christian will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Southern Christian at 7:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025. After both having extra time off, Brooklane Baptist and Clay County Christian Academy will dust off their jerseys to take on one another at 7:00 p.m. on January 6, 2025.
