Recap: St. David's Warriors vs. Grace Christian Crusaders
After a string of seven wins, the St. David's Warriors's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They had to suffer through a rough 66-19 loss at the hands of Grace Christian. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points St. David's has scored all season.
St. David's lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Eliza Everett, who scored nine points along with 13 rebounds. Everett hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for eight straight games. Kate Benson was another key contributor, scoring seven points.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, St. David's struggled to work together and finished the game with only four assists. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Grace Christian racked up 20 assists.
Grace Christian's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Sarah Strong, who scored ten points along with seven rebounds and five steals. The contest was Strong's 12th in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Isabella "Isa" Roman, who scored 13 points along with five steals.
St. David's loss dropped their record down to 9-4. As for Grace Christian, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 12-0.
St. David's will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Wake Christian Academy at 5:15 p.m. on January 5, 2024. Grace Christian and Camden will face off at 7:00 p.m. on December 27th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Camden is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
