Basketball Recap: North Marion Comes Up Short

If North Marion was feeling good fresh off their 69-29 takedown of West Port last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The North Marion Colts took a 61-56 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Vanguard Knights. The Colts were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Knights earlier this season, when they won 52-49.

When it comes to explaining why North Marion lost on Wednesday, don't look at Jerdarrius Jackson. Despite the final result, he posted 18 points along with seven boards and five assists. Toure James was another key player, putting up 13 points.

North Marion's loss dropped their record down to 13-5. As for Vanguard, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 9-8.

North Marion will take on Olympic Heights in a tournament on Saturday. North Marion is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 61.1 points per game this season. As for Vanguard, they will be taking part in a tournament against Forest at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Vanguard's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last four contests.
