Baseball Game Preview: Fox Chapel Foxes vs. Pine-Richland Rams

For the second straight game, Fox Chapel will face off against Pine-Richland. The Foxes will venture away from home to square off against the Rams at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday. The last four games Fox Chapel has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Fox Chapel fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against Pine-Richland on Monday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Rams by a score of 6-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Foxes have suffered since April 28, 2025.

For Pine-Richland's part, Michael Malady looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits.

At the plate, Pine-Richland got a massive performance out of Ben Husted, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Austin Cwynar, who went 2-for-4 with one home run and two RBI.

The win was the fourth in a row for Pine-Richland, bringing their record up to 4-1. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.3 runs over those games. As for Fox Chapel, they now have a losing record of 2-3.
