Grapevine has gone 7-2 against Denton recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. It'll be an old-fashioned rodeo when the Grapevine Mustangs face off against the Denton Broncos at 7:15 p.m. Grapevine is coming into the contest on a five-game losing streak.

Last Friday, Grapevine came up short against Argyle and fell 50-40. While losing is never fun, the Mustangs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 444th, while the Eagles are ranked 200th).

Meanwhile, Denton beat Richland 73-65 on Friday.

Grapevine better keep an eye on Ethan Sheats. He was instrumental in Denton's win, putting up 21 points. Sheats' evening made it six games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Jeremiah Brown, who posted 14 points.

Grapevine's loss dropped their record down to 11-16. As for Denton, their win bumped their record up to 14-12.

Grapevine was able to grind out a solid victory over Denton in their previous matchup back in December of 2024, winning 58-47. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Sheats, who scored 22 points. Now that he's got a second chance to win this matchup, will Grapevine still be able to contain Sheats?
