Football Recap: La Costa Canyon Piles Up the Points Against Del Norte

La Costa Canyon was not the first on the board on Friday, but they got there more often. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Del Norte Nighthawks 56-13. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 32-7.

La Costa Canyon's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Coby Herman, who rushed for 131 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only nine carries, and also caught one TD. Quinn Roth was another key signal caller, throwing for 183 yards and four touchdowns while completing 82.4% of his passes.

Although Del Norte took the loss, they still got scores from Rylin Battle and Madox Romans.

The win was the third in a row for La Costa Canyon, bringing their record up to 3-0. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 13.3 points on average this season. As for Del Norte, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

La Costa Canyon wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 28-14 win against San Clemente on the 12th. As for Del Norte, they will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Brawley at 7:00 p.m. on the 19th.
