After some red-hot attacks on offense in their last three matchups, Fredericksburg Christian finally came back down to earth on Saturday. They lost to the Fork Union Military Academy Blue Devils on the road by a 30-13 margin. The Eagles' defeat signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

Fredericksburg Christian lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Trip Blalock, who threw for 173 yards and one TD, and also rushed for 38 yards. Speaking of playmakers, who could forget Nate Caesar, who went all the way with a kickoff return for a touchdown.

Most of the squad's points came courtesy of special teams, who contributed seven in total. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Caesar, who ran a kickoff back for a touchdown.

Fredericksburg Christian didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Blalock and Caesar.

Fredericksburg Christian's loss dropped their record down to 5-2. As for Fork Union Military Academy, their record now sits at 3-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Fredericksburg Christian will take on Blue Ridge at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Eagles will be up against the Barons' rather soft defense (which has allowed 43.57 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Fork Union Military Academy, they will square off against Collegiate at 3:30 p.m. on Friday.
