After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Andover, Billerica Memorial was happy to have turned things around on Wednesday. They skirted past the Methuen Rangers 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Indians have posted since September 12th.

Billerica Memorial was staring down a 2-1 deficit headed into the fourth set, but they rallied to take the next two for the win. The match finished with set scores of 25-12, 12-25, 22-25, 25-21, 15-11.

Kendra Marino paced Billerica Memorial's offense, picking up 12 kills. Marino got some help from Meghan Downs and her 28 assists. Finally, Marino was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high three blocks.

Methuen's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kathryn Driend, who had seven digs, five kills, three blocks, and two aces. Driend has been hot for a while, having also posted 14 or more assists the last 17 times she's played. Ella Duffy was another key player, getting 25 digs and two assists.

Billerica Memorial pushed their record up to 6-9 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. As for Methuen, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 10-6.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Billerica Memorial will face off against Woburn Memorial at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Methuen, they will square off against Westwood at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
