Basketball Game Preview: Jackson Christian Eagles vs. Trinity Christian Academy Lions

The Jackson Christian Eagles will venture away from home to challenge the Trinity Christian Academy Lions at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.

Jackson Christian is probably headed into the matchup with a chip on their shoulder considering University School of Jackson just ended the team's five-game winning streak on Tuesday. They lost 70-47 to the Bruins. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 111th, while the Bruins are ranked 33rd).

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Trinity Christian Academy). They breezed by Carroll Academy to the tune of 90-30 on Wednesday. Winning may never get old, but the Lions sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Trinity Christian Academy's win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-7. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 23.3 points per game. As for Jackson Christian, their loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 17-7.

Jackson Christian didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Trinity Christian Academy in their previous matchup on January 14th, but they still walked away with a 59-53 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Jackson Christian since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
