Football Recap: Walnut Grove Takes a Loss

Walnut Grove came into their game on Friday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They had to suffer through a 34-6 loss at the hands of the Eastside Eagles. The Warriors have struggled against the Eagles recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.

Eastside got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Payton Shaw out in front who threw for 145 yards and three touchdowns. Myles Mims helped Shaw out on the ground, rushing for 104 yards and one score.

Walnut Grove's defeat dropped their record down to 5-1. As for Eastside, they now have a winning record of 4-3.

Coming up, Walnut Grove is taking a road trip to challenge East Forsyth at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Eastside, they will welcome North Oconee at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Eagles will need to watch out since the Titans have now posted at least 31 points every time they've taken the field this season.
