Baseball Recap: Wednesday's Loss Ends Nash Central's Winning Streak

Nash Central fell victim to Bunn and their airtight pitching crew on Wednesday. They fell just short of the Wildcats by a score of 1-0. The Bulldogs were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Wildcats earlier this season, when they won 9-5.

Caleb Cox spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on four hits and racked up eight Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in seven consecutive appearances.

Nash Central moved to 12-4 with that loss, which also ended their five-game winning streak. As for Bunn, their win was their eighth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 16-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Nash Central will head out to challenge First Flight at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Bunn, they will venture away from home to square off against Louisburg at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The Warriors will roll in looking for their seventh straight victory, something the Wildcats surely won't give up without a fight.
