Football Game Preview: Penns Valley Area Rams vs. Central Dragons

The Penns Valley Area Rams will challenge the Central Dragons at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with six consecutive losses for Penns Valley Area and four for Central.

Penns Valley Area is headed into the matchup out to prove that what happened against Clearfield on Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. The Rams were outmatched by the Bison and fell 46-14. The Rams were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 27-7.

Meanwhile, Central had to suffer through a 49-19 loss at the hands of Huntingdon. While losing is never fun, the Dragons can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania football rankings (they are ranked 399th, while the Bearcats are ranked 127th).

Penns Valley Area will have to contain Carter Schenk as he made an impact in Central's last game. He picked up 85 receiving yards, and also punched in one TD on the ground. Central also got a significant boost from Semaj Musei, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 80 yards.

Central's defeat dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Penns Valley Area, their loss dropped their record down to 0-6.

Penns Valley Area was dealt a bruising 40-6 defeat at the hands of Central in their previous meeting back in October of 2024. That game was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Rams were down 33-6.
