Soccer Game Preview: Cienega vs. Cholla

The Cienega Bobcats and the Cholla Chargers will round out the year against one another at at 12:00 p.m. on Friday.

Cienega is looking to tack another W on to their season record, something they couldn't quite do against Tucson High Magnet School on Wednesday. Neither Cienega nor Tucson High Magnet School could gain the upper hand so the two teams had to settle for a 2-2 draw.

Meanwhile, Cholla was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were one goals away from ending the streak, but they lost a 1-0 heartbreaker at the hands of Tanque Verde. That's two games in a row now that the Chargers have lost by just one goal.

With that draw, Cienega's record moves to 2-0-1. As for Cholla, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-7.

Everything went Cienega's way against Cholla in their previous matchup back in January of 2015, as Cienega made off with a 4-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Cienega since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
