Basketball Recap: Rosman Takes a Loss

Rosman was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 24th straight loss dating back to last season. They were dealt a 70-36 defeat at the hands of the Draughn Wildcats. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Tigers of the 84-50 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in February of 2024.

Draughn found their leader in freshman Cayden Lewis, who made all 7 shots he took for 16 points. Lewis continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Kayden Lytle, who made all 5 shots he took racking up 11 points.

Rosman's defeat dropped their record down to 0-9. As for Draughn, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-9.

Rosman didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 56-53 victory against Blue Ridge Early College on the 16th. As for Draughn, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 70-41 win against NCSSM: Morganton on the 14th.
