Baseball Recap: Chicago Christian Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Chicago Christian, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Aurora Christian Eagles by a score of 5-1 on Wednesday. This was a revenge game for the Knights: when they faced off against the Eagles on Tuesday, they had to take a 13-8 defeat.

Christian Flutman spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on four hits and racked up seven Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Chicago Christian saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Isaac Heerdt, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one double.

Chicago Christian hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Aurora Christian struck out seven times.

Chicago Christian has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-10 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for Aurora Christian, the loss snapped their winning streak at four games and leaves them with a 16-14 record.

Looking ahead, Chicago Christian will square off against Harvest Christian Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Aurora Christian, they will face off against Metea Valley at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
