Basketball Recap: Beddingfield's Losing Streak Snapped at Six Games

Beddingfield had to endure a six-game losing streak dating back to last season, but that streak is no more. They enjoyed a cozy 64-49 victory over the Nash Central Bulldogs on Wednesday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Bruins also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2023.

Jhion Ashby was his usual excellent self, going 7 for 11 on his way to 22 points and eight rebounds. Jaden Sauls was another key player, putting up eight points and six rebounds.

Gerald Davis and Markell Jasper certainly did their best on Wednesday to avoid the loss. Davis went 6 of 14 on his way to 16 points along with five rebounds and four steals, while Jasper went 6 of 15 on his way to 17 points and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Davian Sharpe, who posted six points.

Beddingfield's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-4. As for Nash Central, they are on a ten-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-2.

Beddingfield didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 48-45 victory against Hunt on the 6th. As for Nash Central, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 55-24 defeat against SouthWest Edgecombe on the 10th.
