Basketball Recap: Loara Takes a Loss

After flying high against Santa Ana Valley last Friday, Loara came back down to earth. The Loara Saxons took a 70-51 bruising from the Orange Panthers on Tuesday. The Saxons were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Panthers apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2023.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Orange to victory, but perhaps none more so than Ivan Kim, who posted 17 points. Those 17 points gave Kim a new career-high. Landen Gomez was another key player, putting up 12 points.

Loara's loss dropped their record down to 5-15. As for Orange, their win ended a 19-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-20.

Loara will head out to take on Savanna at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Orange, they will square off against Santa Ana Valley at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Orange has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
