Basketball Game Preview: Benjamin Buccaneers vs. Saint Andrew's Scots

Having just played yesterday, the Benjamin Buccaneers will head out on the road to face off against the Saint Andrew's Scots at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Benjamin is coming into the match on a six-game losing streak.

Benjamin is headed into the game out to prove that what happened against American Heritage on Monday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Benjamin came up short against American Heritage, falling 49-27. The Buccaneers were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 35-7.

Meanwhile, Saint Andrew's suffered their biggest loss since February 14, 2024 on Saturday. They were outmatched by Grandview Prep and fell 73-28. While losing is never fun, the Scots can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 137th, while the Pride are ranked fourth).

Benjamin's defeat dropped their record down to 3-11. As for Saint Andrew's, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 12-5 record this season.

Benjamin and Saint Andrew's were neck-and-neck in their previous meeting back in November of 2023, but Benjamin came up empty-handed after a 52-51 loss. Can Benjamin avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
