Basketball Recap: Gardner-Edgerton Takes a Loss

Gardner-Edgerton lost against Olathe West back in February of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Gardner-Edgerton Trailblazers took a hard 57-38 fall against the Olathe West Owls. While losing is never fun, the Trailblazers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 99th, while the Owls are ranked 20th).

Gardner-Edgerton's defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 6-10. As for Olathe West, they have been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 12 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Gardner-Edgerton will square off against Olathe South on Tuesday. As for Olathe West, they will take on Shawnee Mission Northwest at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Shawnee Mission Northwest comes in on four and Olathe West on five.
