Baseball Recap: Washington Triumphs

Washington hadn't done well against James Logan recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Huskies walked away with a 6-2 victory over the Colts. This was a revenge game for the Huskies: when they faced off against the Colts on Wednesday, they had to take a 8-3 defeat.

Hugo Marks spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on five hits and racked up six Ks. He is becoming a predictor of Washington's success: when he allows at most two earned runs the team is 4-1 (and 4-6 when he doesn't).

On the hitting side, Washington's win was truly a team effort as seven different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Ezekiel Porter, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and one RBI.

Washington now has a winning record of 8-7. As for James Logan, their loss dropped their record down to 9-8.

Looking ahead, Washington will look to defend their home field on Monday against Skyline at 4:00 p.m. After both having extra time off, James Logan and Irvington will shake off the cobwebs and hit the field against one another at 4:00 p.m. on the 30th.
