Basketball Game Preview: Carson Senators vs. Moapa Valley Pirates + How To Watch

The Carson Senators will take on the Moapa Valley Pirates at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Moapa Valley took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Carson, who comes in off a win.

Carson took a loss when they played away from home on Saturday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They escaped with a win against Reed by the margin of a single free throw, 67-66.

Carson had a senior duo take command as Kylan Jackson shot 62% from the field to rack up 17 points and Ethan Cook went 6-for-9 en route to 16 points and six boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Gabe Borst, who posted ten points and three steals.

Carson was working as a unit and finished the game with 14 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in December of 2024.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 85 points the game before, Moapa Valley was a bit more limited in their game on Thursday. They took a blow against Reed, falling 69-25. The Pirates were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 38-16.

Moapa Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Carson, the win also got them back to even at 1-1.

Carson skirted past Moapa Valley 57-54 when the teams last played back in December of 2024. Will the Senators repeat their success, or do the Pirates have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
