Softball Recap: Piedmont Comes Up Short

Piedmont was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat dating back to last season. They fell 10-6 to the Pleasant Valley Raiders. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Raiders this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 6-2 last Tuesday.

Piedmont's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Pleasant Valley, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 7-1.

Coming up, Piedmont will take on Ider in a tournament on Friday. As for Pleasant Valley, they will host Gaston at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Pleasant Valley's pitching crew has only allowed 3.4 runs per game this season, so Gaston's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
