Clovis North never let their opponents score on Friday. They put the hurt on the Clovis Cougars with a sharp 8-0 win. The victory was familiar territory for the Broncos, who have now won five games in a row.

Zoey Thomas was excellent, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. Kayleigh Lua was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Clovis North pushed their record up to 18-4-2 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Clovis, they are on a 16-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-21.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Clovis North is set to take on their familiar foe Central East at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Broncos 2.8, the Bengals 2) so any runs scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, Clovis will square off against rival Clovis East at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
