Granite Hills hadn't done well against Adelanto recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. Granite Hills came out on top against Adelanto by a score of 5-1. That's more bragging rights for the Cougars, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Caden Wharton spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on one hit. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Granite Hills' victory was truly a team effort as seven different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Brody Reeves, who scored a run while going 1-for-4. Kaleb Kutz was another, scoring a run while going 1-for-4.

Granite Hills' win bumped their record up to 9-3. As for Adelanto, their loss dropped their record down to 4-8.
