Basketball Game Preview: Baker Braves vs. Mojave Mustangs

Baker hasn't had much luck against Mojave recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Baker Braves will face off against the Mojave Mustangs at 4:00 p.m.

Baker is headed into the matchup having just suffered their biggest defeat since December 17, 2024 on Wednesday. They were dealt an 81-29 loss at the hands of Lone Pine. The Braves have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

The losing side was boosted by Anthony Ortiz, who posted 14 points and three steals. That was a full 48.3% of Baker's points, marking the fourth time in a row he's scored more than a third of the team's points.

Meanwhile, Mojave had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10.5 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Saturday. They came out on top against the Tigers by a score of 46-34.

The victory got Mojave back to even at 10-10. As for Baker, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-9.

Baker came up short against Mojave when the teams last played back in January, falling 40-32. Can Baker avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
