Baseball Preview: Round Valley Elks vs. St. Johns Redskins

The Round Valley Elks will challenge the St. Johns Redskins at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Round Valley is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 10.1 runs per game this season.

On Friday, Round Valley needed a bit of extra time to put away Willcox. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Cowboys, sneaking past 10-9. The win continues a trend for the Elks in their matchups with the Cowboys: they've now won three in a row.

JJ Logan made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching 3.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off two hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-5.

In other batting news, Jeffery Cochran and Brody Crick did most of the damage at the plate: Cochran went 3-for-5 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base, while Crick scored two runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-4.
