Basketball Game Preview: Sparta Spartans vs. Grant Tigers

The Sparta Spartans will take on the Grant Tigers in a tournament on Friday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Having struggled with 23 defeats in a row dating back to last season, Sparta turned things around against Tri County Area on Wednesday. They took down the Vikings 47-33. The Spartans' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Grant took on Comstock Park on Wednesday. Grant strolled past Comstock Park with points to spare, taking the game 61-43. The Tigers haven't had any issues with the Panthers recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Sparta's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-22. As for Grant, their victory bumped their record up to 11-12.

Sparta came up short against Grant when the teams last played back in January, falling 46-39. Can Sparta avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
