Softball Recap: Benicia Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Benicia, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Saturday. They had just enough and edged out the Alhambra Bulldogs 4-3 on Tuesday. The victory continues a trend for the Panthers in their matchups with the Bulldogs: they've now won four in a row.

Alana Robinson spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on four hits and racked up nine Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Ava Rojas was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. Those two stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Kaity Nichols, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and one RBI.

Benicia's record now sits at 10-7. As for Alhambra, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 9-7.

Benicia has already played their next contest, a 7-6 win against College Park on the 24th. As for Alhambra, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 16-0 victory against De Anza on the 23rd.
