Baseball Game Preview: James River Midlothian Rapids vs. Albemarle Patriots

The James River Midlothian Rapids will challenge the Albemarle Patriots at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Last Friday, James River Midlothian was able to grind out a solid victory over Monticello, taking the game 11-6. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Rapids.

Garnett Power made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Power was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing three bases while going 1-for-3.

In other batting news, Brian Consuegra was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while going 3-for-4. Jayden Grant was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.

Meanwhile, Albemarle sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-2 win over Liberty on Friday.

The victory got Albemarle back to even at 1-1. As for James River Midlothian, their win bumped their record up to 2-0.
