Football Recap: Hanna Comes Up Short

Hanna extended their losing streak to three on Thursday, dropping them down to 2-6. They took a blow against the Veterans Memorial Chargers, falling 42-7. If the Golden Eagles were looking for revenge after losing 46-7 to the Chargers when the teams met back in October of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

When it comes to explaining why Hanna lost, don't look at Esteban Rodriguez. Despite the final result, he rushed for 79 yards and one score.

As for Veterans Memorial, they pushed their record up to 7-1 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six matchups by 25 points or more this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Veterans Memorial to victory, but perhaps none more so than Cesar Belmontes, who rushed for 127 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 7.9 yards per carry. Calvin Trevillion was another key player, gaining 143 total yards and a touchdown.
