Softball Recap: Carroll County Comes Up Short

If Carroll County was feeling good fresh off their 14-8 takedown of Galax on Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Cavaliers fell just short of the James River Knights by a score of 7-5 on Friday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Cavaliers have suffered since April 23, 2025.

Carroll County now has a losing record of 5-6. As for James River, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-2.

Looking ahead, Carroll County will take on Patrick County at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for James River, they will challenge Lord Botetourt at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
