Football Recap: Mckena Beverly Leads Centennial's Defense on Friday

Centennial won the last time they faced Faith Lutheran and things went their way on Friday too. The Centennial Bulldogs enjoyed a cozy 19-2 win over the Faith Lutheran Crusaders. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Bulldogs.

Centennial's defense made their presence known, laying out the QB five times. In fact, those sacks all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut McKena Beverly. She is on a roll when it comes to sacks, as she's now posted two or more in the last four games she's played. Centennial got some further help from Taylor Hockaday Barreau: she made 15 total tackles and defended three passes.

Centennial's victory bumped their record up to 4-5. As for Faith Lutheran, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-7.

Centennial will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Coronado at 4:30 p.m. on January 6, 2025. Faith Lutheran will also get a bit of a break before their next contest: they'll face off against Clark at 12:00 p.m. on January 2, 2025.
