Softball Game Preview: Mater Bay Academy Rays vs. iMater Charter Knights

The Mater Bay Academy Rays will head out on the road to challenge the iMater Charter Knights at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Mater Bay Academy is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.6 runs per game this season.

Schoolhouse Prep hit Mater Bay Academy with a five-run fourth inning on Monday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Rays came up short against the Wolfpack, falling 10-0. Having soared to a lofty 13 runs in the game before, the Rays' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Mater Bay Academy saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Paiten Mclaughlin, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base.

Meanwhile, iMater Charter lost 18-3 to Varela on Tuesday. The Knights have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Mater Bay Academy has been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last ten matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-12 record this season. As for iMater Charter, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-8.

Everything went Mater Bay Academy's way against iMater Charter in their previous meeting back in March, as Mater Bay Academy made off with a 16-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Rays since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
