Baseball Game Preview: Stanwood Spartans vs. Anacortes Seahawks

The Stanwood Spartans will challenge the Anacortes Seahawks at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Anacortes took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Stanwood, who comes in off a win.

Stanwood is looking to give their home crowd another W after opening their season at home on Saturday. They had just enough and edged out Nathan Hale 3-2.

Tanner Requa looked comfortable as he pitched four innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits. What's more, he posted two strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April of 2024.

At the plate, Stanwood's victory was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Skyler McLain, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI and one double. That's the most RBI McLain has posted since back in April of 2024.

Meanwhile, Anacortes came up short against Bishop Blanchet on Saturday, falling 13-3. The Seahawks have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
