Baseball Recap: Shawnee Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

Shawnee won against Carroll on Saturday with six runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Monday. The Braves narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the North Union Wildcats 6-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Braves have posted since April 10th.

Noah Belcher was incredible, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, two doubles, and one run. That's the most RBI he has posted over his last ten matchups. Kai Shaw was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two runs and one stolen base.

The win (which was Shawnee's third in a row) raised their record to 12-5. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games. As for North Union, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost nine of their last ten games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-12 record this season.
